We believe it is the right of every pregnant woman to give birth, and the right of every child to be born. We will provide a home for women experiencing crisis pregnancy, and through loving direction, help them gain the life skills needed to support themselves and their children.
If you are in crisis, please contact us right away to apply to stay at St. Clare’s Home. It is open to all women aged 18+ of any race, religion, or background.
The Roman Catholic Diocese of Charleston wants to provide a loving home environment for women with unplanned pregnancies that have no where to live or feel unsafe in their current living situation.
A loving home with accountability and encouragement, moms in crisis will have food to eat, classes on parenting, time management, budgeting, career/interviewing, cooking, and opportunities to pray with the other women in the home.
- One year after the birth of your child, during your pregnancy and after
- Your children under the age of 5 are also welcome
You can stay up to one year after giving birth to your precious baby.
Yes, we will help you to make arrangements for continuing your education either by
- Studying for the G.E.D.
- By attending a local community or four-year college.
We will help decide on child care as well.
Yes, we will allow your other children to come and stay with you.
Certain age restrictions on the other children will apply in this case.

We will assist in getting women connected with Medicaid for pregnancy.
St. Clare's currently has room for eight women to stay at the home.
